It's that rare week of new comics where we're more fired up for a stack of books than the periodicals -- especially CHIBI USAGI, ah so cute! There is also Guy Delisle's FACTORY SUMMERS and the super-mental KANE & ABLE. Love you comics! There's a whole lot more this week, though, all behind the cut! What looks good to YOU?
Read MoreComics are arriving late this week to most of the Bay Area, so maybe call first before you start the trip to be sure we actually have them -- DC comics currently show as being in New Mexico with no scheduled delivery date (!), and the Diamond shipment indicates Wednesday delivery, and we'll need a bit of time to work the shipment before they're up for sale. Hopefully all ready by 1p, but let's see what UPS brings us!
BUT, it's a nice big week of funny books, so when they finally come you've got many great things this week! DC's next big crossover event dealie kicks off this week with INFINITE FRONTIER, Marvel gives us their MARVELS VOICES PRIDE anthology, and let's give it up for Todd McFarlane and his launching SPAWN UNIVERSE twenty-nine years of the main title! But what looks good to YOU?
Wow, big diverse week of funnybooks! We like the look of COMPASS, like the premise of SAVE YOURSELF, and are excited for the return of STATIC SEASON ONE... But that's just the tiniest portion of this particular week of comics! Get thee behind the jump and tell us what looks good to YOU?
Read MoreNot a ton of new periodical releases this week, and SIX SIDEKICKS OF TRIGGER KEATON looks the most promising to me, and as a perverse person, I'll go with the over of CHERRY BLACKBIRD as wanting me to take a look. On the book side, there are multiple Geoff Darrow stories coming back to print this week, but I have to give the edge to MIGHTY MMW AMAZING SPIDER-MAN GREAT POWER GN TP which is the first 10 issues of 1962's AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (plus AMAZING FANTASY #15) for a measly $16. Knowing Marvel this will go out of print before the end of the year, so snap it up while you can, sez Hibbs! There's a lot of other comics coming out this week, all behind the jump….what looks good to YOU?
Read MoreAnother sterling week of comical books! The lead book is almost certainly James Tynion's THE NICE HOUSE ON THE LAKE -- what a swell read! This week also starts the X-Men "Gala" crossover with three tie-in releases. Finally, we're pretty up for the newest Katie O'Neill book with TEA DRAGON TAPESTRY, scrummy! But that's just the least of it, so much more below the cut.... what looks good to YOU??
Read MoreOh comics, how we love you! A lot of folks are pretty excited about MILESTONE RETURNS, while BLUE FLAME is getting a lot of buzz too, and on the book front SPIDER-MAN LIFE STORY is pretty great. But there's a lot more coming out down there under the cut... what looks good to YOU?
Read MoreThis week's Periodical is clearly Ed Piskor's RED ROOM, while on the Book side we are thrilled for WE LIVE (June's Comix Experience Graphic Novel Club selection!); plus WONDER GIRL has a good deal of buzz. And that's just the tip of the spear this week with the full shaft under the cut below….. what looks good to YOU?
Read MoreSmaller week of new releases, but a nice mix of books. Things that look interesting to us are TIME BEFORE TIME, HOUSE OF LOST HORIZONS and JUNKYCABLE, but we'd love to hear what you're looking forward to this week from the list below the cut!
Read MoreIt's a swell week for the funnybooks! The big winner this wek is Alison Bechdel's THE SECRET TO SUPERHUMAN STRENGTH (Also our Graphic Novel Club selection for June), while we're anticipating THE GOOD ASIAN and HEY KIDS, COMICS! But there's a tonnnnn of stuff below that cut... what looks good to YOU?

Another fantastic week of comics, led by the second "Reckless" book FRIEND OF THE DEVIL. We also like the looks of 20 FISTS and HELM GREYCASTLE, but that's just the tip of a mighty big iceberg! The full list is below the cut.... what looks good to YOU?
Read MoreYay comics! Kinda excited about Ben Sears' YOUNG SHADOW (which is also May's Kids Graphic Novel of the Month selection!), and ooh, LOVESICKNESS from Junji Ito. On the comic book side, have a thrill from OLD GUARD: TALES THROUGH TIME and, hm ALICE IN LEATHERLAND looks interesting too. Many and more below the cut, what looks good to YOU?
Read MoreThis week is a special week because we've finally got what is likely the Book of the Year: Barry Windsor-Smith's MONSTERS (watch our interview with Mr. Windsor-Smith on Sunday 4/18 at 10 am PST here: https://youtu.be/yY6HwW1bQYE). Also looking pretty great is LOCKE & KEY SANDMAN HELL & GONE #1 and HOME #1. So much other great stuff too, under the cut -- what looks good to YOU?
Read MoreThe first week of comics of our 33rd year in business is a nice week of comic-y goodness! The lead book is probably GEIGER from Geoff Johns & Gary Frank, but lots of folks are excited about Boom!'s MAGIC THE GATHERING comic, and who doesn't want a return to Evan Dorkin & Sarah Dyer's BEASTS OF BURDEN? Plus, finally back in print for the first time since 1986 (but without Alan Moore's name on it, for some reason?) is the amazing comics deconstruction masterpiece IN PICTOPIA. Sooooo much more below the jump... what looks good to YOU?
Read MoreJune 2021’s books and comics get spotlighted with issue #301 of Comix Experience ONOMATOPOEIA available for download as a large PDF. You can find it by clicking this link. We’ve beaten Dave Sim’s arbitrary numbering record!
Another Wednesday of cool comics, yay! The standouts to us look like WITCHBLOOD, SHADECRAFT, and the fourteen years in the making end of KORGI, but there's a lot of great stuff below the cut -- what looks good to YOU?
Read MoreThere's a ton of things arriving this week, but few brand new issue #1 periodicals. But that makes it super easy to name DELICATES by Brenna Thummler our pick of the week, her follow up to the incredible SHEETS. Or maybe you want to read Gene Luen Yang who starts his run on BATMAN SUPERMAN with a super classic take on the characters. Or you want something artsy? RED ROCK BABY CANDY by Shira Spector is the clear choice. So so so much more below the cut.... what looks good to YOU??
Read MoreEven small weeks of comics have gems -- by far the thing we're most excited by is James Stokoe's ORPHAN & FIVE BEASTS, with a close second to James Herren's ULTRAMEGA. That not enough? How about Mirka Andolfo's EROS/PSYCHE? Very much more under the cut, but tell us what looks good to YOU??
Read MoreDiverse new week of books! The lead story would look to be a new Grant Morrison joint with PROCTOR VALLEY ROAD, but Guillem March's KARMEN looks neat, and we're adoring the Global Citizen GN line which has a new release with WHAT UNITES US from Dan Rather and company, and, ooh! Mariko Tamaki and Gurihiru doing THOR / LOKI DOUBLE TROUBLE? Yes, please! So so so much more below the cut... what looks good to YOU?
