Hey there everybody! Unfortunately, as the COVID situation continues, we will not be doing any in-person interviews, no matter how badly we want to. But we’re doing the next best thing—live interviews that you can participate in! The live stream will be happening on Wednesday, June 17th at 5pm PST. These interviews will be open to the public, but if you want to support us and keep them happening, consider joining our Graphic Novel Club!
You will need a Youtube account to post in the chat, but if you’d prefer not to, feel free to email us in advance at divisadero@comixexperience.com or tweet us your questions @comixexperience.
This debut graphic novel tells the story of the 2015 European "migrant crisis" in Budapest, Hungary through the perspective of Langosh and Peppi, a vagabond and his faithful dog. Based on Post's own experiences, Langosh and Peppi escape the pressures of conformity by exploring out-of-the-way places, where they stumble on the vestiges of the war torn region's hidden past. However, Langosh and Peppi discover the stark difference between choosing a transient lifestyle, and being forced from one's home and country. We meet people whose tragic personal struggles are enmeshed with the national struggles that continue to divide and destroy so many lives, see families torn apart due to ignorance and fear, and witness the disturbing global rise of nationalism.
